• General resources for preaching series
  

  Our next preaching series is from 14th April to 5th May. All preachers leading worship during that time are encouraged to focus on "Encounters with the Risen Christ", looking at a number of the stories in the New Testament of people who met the Risen Christ, and explore what those encounters might say to us today.

  The suggested characters and Bible passages are as follows:

  • 14th April - Peter - John 21: 1 - 19
  • 21st April - Mary - John 20: 1 - 18
  • 28th April - Thomas - John 20: 19 - 29
  • 5th May - Paul - Acts 9: 1 - 20

  Various resources for the individual weeks are provided. Further thoughts and suggestions are welcome, whether in terms of response to the reading, hymn choices, film clips, or other creative ideas. If you email them to me, I will then put them up on the website for everyone else to see.

  The series will conclude with a circuit service at Lime Walk on 5th May at 6.30pm when we will be thinking about our own encounters with the Risen Christ.

• Prayer Diary Hymns
  

  Alternative hymns for use with the Connexional Methodist Prayer Handbook 2012/13.

   

  Because the current Connexional Prayer Diary (Crossing the Chasm) uses Singing the Faith for all its hymns, and not everyone has access to Singing the Faith, Joanna Tulloch has kindly provided alternative references to the hymns using Hymns & Psalms and the circuit songbook. Please note that these conversions are for the central (daily lectionary) section of the prayer handbook found on pages 37 - 44.
