Oxford Methodist Circuit is recruiting to two part-time appointments:

Church and Community Worker, Lime Walk Methodist Church, Headington (15 hours per week).

As part of its mission, Lime Walk Methodist Church is seeking to help tackle the important issue of loneliness and social isolation among older people in Headington. 

It is now seeking a worker to facilitate and co-ordinate this outreach. The role will involve running established weekly activities on the church premises, offering a warm welcome, co-ordinating volunteers and building up pastoral links. It will also involve promoting the activities and exploring opportunities for new projects through relationships with local partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Christian with energy, commitment and enthusiasm to be involved in addressing a significant need.

Lay Community Chaplain, Rose Hill (17.5 hours per week).

Oxford Methodist Circuit is seeking an enthusiastic, caring person to be a visible Christian presence in places where people meet in Rose Hill and to form relationships based on service and friendship. Rose Hill is an area of significant deprivation in south east Oxford.

The role will involve leadership and co-ordination of volunteers in established activities that serve the community, currently a community food cupboard and a drop-in playgroup for preschool children and their carers. It will also involve developing chaplaincy to local people both through and beyond these groups.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Christian with energy, commitment and enthusiasm to be involved in pioneering work in an area of significant need.

Salary for both posts is: £12 per hour (equivalent to a full time salary of £23,400 per annum)
